It Takes a Village: The Partners Behind Jitegemee’s Vocational Training!

In the heart of Machakos, a transformative shift is taking place. For many children and youth from needy backgrounds, the traditional formal schooling system isn’t always a perfect fit. Due to socio-economic hurdles or different learning styles, some find themselves at a crossroads. This is where Jitegemee steps in-not just as a vocational center, but as a “Center of Hope.”

The secret to Jitegemee’s enduring success thrives through a robust ecosystem of strategic partnerships that turn potential into professional excellence.

A Foundation of Governance and Pedagogy: The cornerstone of our vocational program is our long-standing relationship with the Directorate of Adult Learning and Education (DALE) in Kenya. DALE has been a pillar of stability, providing a specialized curriculum tailored to our learners’ needs as well as guiding our approach towards policy and government compliance. Beyond paperwork, their commitment is personified by the secondment of a dedicated teacher to our institution for years. By recommending Jitegemee as a premier hub for out-of-school youth, DALE has ensured that those who once felt left behind now have a clear roadmap to self-reliance.

From the Classroom to the Marketplace
Jitegemee’s mission is to ensure our youth are not just “trained,” but exam-ready and market-ready. This is made possible by our network of vocational training institutions. These partners go above and beyond the standard syllabus, providing:

  • Industry-Standard Apprenticeships: Bridging the gap between theory and real-world application.
  • Professional Certification: Ensuring every graduate holds a recognized credential to compete in the job market.
  • Holistic Care: Many of these institutions provide a safety net for our youth even after they leave the Jitegemee center, ensuring a smooth transition into the marketplace.

The Machakos University Impact
A shining example of these collaborations is our partnership with Machakos University. This high-level synergy allows our students to access university-level workshops and specialized training that would otherwise be out of reach.

By opening their gates and labs to Jitegemee, Machakos University offers our students more than just skills; they offer a prestige network and a vision of what they can achieve. This commitment to educational equity has directly translated into higher success rates for our graduates in the marketplace, proving that when community institutions unite, the ceiling for our youth disappears.

At Jitegemee, we are building competent craftsmanship, one partnership at a time.
